Peake R5/BM20 BMW Electronic Service Light Reset Tool With Case; NEW, never used!
New Peake BMW R5 electronic reset tool for service lights. Includes original case and instruction sheet. NEVER USED!
The Peake R5/BM20 is a basic electronic reset tool for older BMWs, specifically designed for models from roughly 1988 to 2000 that use the large, round 20-pin diagnostic connector under the hood, primarily for resetting Oil Service and Inspection lights. It's a simple, low-cost tool that reads and clears basic service reminders for this classic BMW generation, not a full-function scanner for newer models.
Key Compatibility Points:
Connector Type: Must have the older 20-pin OBD-I style port, not the newer rectangular OBD-II port.
Years:
Best suited for E30, E34, E36, E38, E39, E46 (early), E31, Z3 models, generally pre-2001.
Functionality:
Resets oil service, inspection lights, and sometimes check engine lights; does not read complex fault codes like modern scanners.
